Friedensreich Hundertwasser has gained world-wide reputation with works of art such as Irinaland over the Balkans, Eyebalance Number Five, Columbus rainy day in India. His originals and graphics are puchased and sold throughout the world. Some of his works are very hard to find.

Biography Friedensreich Hundertwasser:

• 1928 born in Vienna/Austria
• 1949 start of lengthy travels and developement of a particular style
• 1952 first presentation in Vienna`s Art Club 1958 reading of "Verschimmelungsmanifest gegen den Rationalismus in der Architektur" on July 4th at Seckau Abbey
• 1965 great success of a moving presentation in Stockholm/Sweden 1969 start of his work for the grafic "Good morning city", which took two years
• 1975 settlement on "Bay of islands"/New Zealand
• 1981 receiving of the "great Austrian Stateprice for Art"
• 1984 laying of the foundation stone of the "Hundertwasserhouse"
• 1991 remodelling of the old Thonet factory to the museum Kunsthauses Wien
• 2000 Hundertwasser dies on Saturday, February 19th, in the Pacific, on board of Queen Elizabeth II from a heart attack. According to his wish he is being buried in harmony with nature on his land in New Zealand, in the Garden of the Happy Deads, under a tulip tree.
